I've always thought this stuff was cool, we should do something with this technology.
Radiohead’s latest music video for their In Rainbows track “House of Cards” was created sans camera or lights. The whole thing was captured in scanning systems Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics produces structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while Velodyne Lidar uses multiple lasers to capture large environments like landscapes. 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes in the video.

awww, all that buildup, and then the vid's been pulled from youtube. perhaps i'll happen upon it on my own someday and i'll see what the fuss is about
